Can I claim the net capital gains deduction for sales occurring on or after January 1, 2025?
No. For taxable periods beginning on or after January 1, 2025, the net capital gains deduction has been repealed.
However, if a purchase agreement was executed by all parties and all conditions contractually required to perfect the sale were satisfied prior to January 1, 2025, the deduction will be allowed even if the closing occurs after January 1, 2025.
