Important Announcement

Due to critical system updates and the Labor Day holiday, the Louisiana Department of Revenue (LDR) will be closed from 2 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 4, 2026, through Monday, Sept. 7, 2026. In addition to the closure of all LDR offices during this period, all online services including electronic tax filing and payments and the Louisiana Taxpayer Access Point (LaTAP) portal will be unavailable as well. All in-person, telephone and online customer service will resume on Tuesday, Sept. 8.

How long will it take to get my refund?


Most Louisiana individual income tax refunds are processed within:
  • Up to 4 weeks for electronically filed returns

  • Up to 8 weeks for paper-filed returns

To protect taxpayers from identity theft and tax fraud, some returns are selected for additional review. If your return is selected, processing may take up to 16 weeks.

You can check the status of your refund anytime using LDR's Where's My Refund? tool. The information is updated nightly. You will need your:

  • Social Security Number

  • Filing Status

  • Refund Amount
