Updated May 15, 2020
BATON ROUGE – To protect the health and well-being of taxpayers and employees, the Louisiana Department of Revenue (LDR) will implement social distancing guidelines and other safety precautions when in-office customer service resumes on Monday, May 18, 2020.
As part of the Phase One reopening of state government facilities, LDR will resume in-person customer service at its Baton Rouge headquarters and its regional satellite offices in Lafayette and New Orleans. To make the transition as safe as possible during the ongoing COVID-19 public health emergency, the department has put the following precautions into place:
- Visitors and employees will have their temperatures checked upon entering the building
- No one with a temperature of 100.4 or above will be allowed past the temperature checkpoint
- Employees and visitors are asked to wear masks while in the building
- All employees providing customer service will wear masks
- Any visitor who does not have a mask may request one from the department
- Hand sanitizer will be available at stations throughout the building
- All public spaces, including the customer service area, will observe strict social distancing guidelines
Visitors to the LDR satellite offices in Lafayette and New Orleans will benefit from all the safety procedures listed above and may encounter additional measures implemented by the managers of those buildings.
During the Phase One reopening, staff and visitors will be limited to 25% of facility capacity. Taxpayers who wish to avoid delays are encouraged to take advantage of the online customer service options.
