Why do I have to pay two taxes?

The State of Louisiana and the parish in which the event is being held are two separate taxing jurisdictions. The state tax rate, administered by the Louisiana Department of Revenue, is 5%. Sales tax rates for local jurisdictions throughout Louisiana are available from the Louisiana Association of Tax Administrators.
