Do veterans pay sales tax on vehicles in Louisiana?

Yes, veterans must pay sales tax on their vehicle purchases. However, La. R.S. 47:463 exempts certain veterans from the payment of motor vehicle registration and licenses taxes. Contact the Office of Motor Vehicles for more information on the registration/license tax exemption.
