Cease and Desist Order

About Cease and Desist Orders

If you collect sales or withholding tax and fail to remit to the Louisiana Department of Revenue (LDR), the Secretary of Revenue may use a summary process in any court of competent jurisdiction to require you to show cause as to why the Secretary of Revenue should not be ordered to cease from further pursuit of your business.

If you have been notified that a cease and desist order has been filed against your business for failure to remit sales or withholding tax, you should contact the LDR Business Tax Enforcement Division immediately at 1-855-307-3893 or [email protected].
