How can I check to see if my individual income tax return has been processed and when my refund will be issued?

The Department has responded to an increase in tax fraud by implementing enhanced security measures to protect Louisiana taxpayers. As a result, additional time may be required to process refunds.

The expected refund processing time is:

• Electronically filed returns: Up to 4 weeks

• Paper returns: Up to 8 weeks

If you selected direct deposit, your refund should be deposited within one week after processing is complete.

After filing your return, you may check the status of your refund by clicking “Where’s My Refund?” at the top of the web page and selecting “Check Refund Status Online.”
