How to Make an Extension Payment for Individual Income Tax
To avoid interest and delinquent payment penalties, individual taxpayers must remit their tax liability by the May 15 due date. LDR offers the following ways to make a payment by May 15:
Mail a check with Form R-2868V, Individual Income Tax Automatic Extension Payment Voucher, to the department
Electronic Payment with LaTAP
Make a payment electronically through LaTAP using either a logged-in option or a non-logged in option.
Electronic Payment with Louisiana File Online
To make a payment electronically through Louisiana File Online:
- You can make an extension payment through your account by logging in, selecting the year, then selecting “Make a payment using a bank account”. You must select “payment with extension” as your payment type
- If you do not have an account, you can register for one and receive immediate access to your account. After registering, follow the instructions for making a payment above
Electronic Payment with Third Party Software
Make a payment electronically through participating third-party software.
Pay by Debit or Credit Card
- Pay by debit or credit card through ACI Payments, Inc
- No login is required, but a fee is charged to make the payment
- When using this option, you must select extension payment as the “Individual Income Tax Payment Type”
How to Make an Extension Payment for Corporation Income & Franchise Tax, Partnership Income Tax, and Fiduciary Income Tax.

Extension Payment Options
Mail in a check
- Corporation Income and Franchise Tax: You can mail a check with Form CIFT-620EXT-V
- Partnership Income Tax: You can mail a check with Form R-6467V
- Fiduciary Income Tax: You can mail a check with Form R-6466V
Electronic payment with LaTAP, your account
- Corporation Income and Franchise Tax: Available if you have a LaTAP account
- Partnership Income Tax: This option is not available for this tax
- Fiduciary Income Tax: Available if you have a LaTAP account
Electronic payment with LaTAP, non-logged in option
- Corporation Income and Franchise Tax: Available if you have an LDR account number
- Partnership Income Tax: Available if you have an LDR account number
- Fiduciary Income Tax: Available if you have an LDR account number
Electronic payment through participating third-party software
- Corporation Income and Franchise Tax: Available if you have an LDR account number
- Partnership Income Tax: Available if you have an LDR account number
- Fiduciary Income Tax: Available if you have an LDR account number
Payment by debit or credit card
You must have an LDR account number for this option.

- Partnership Income Tax: No login is required, but a fee is charged to make the payment. When using this option, you must select “Extension Payment” as the payment type where
- Fiduciary Income Tax: No login is required, but a fee is charged to make the payment. When using this option, you must select “Extension Payment” as the payment type where
