What is the difference between a Notice of Proposed Assessment and a Notice of Final Assessment?

A Notice of Proposed Assessment gives you an opportunity to review and respond before an assessment becomes final.

A Notice of Final Assessment establishes the amount due and may result in collection actions if the liability is not resolved.
